SDA has professional and technical staff in possession of expertise and qualifications in various fields. These include Chemistry, Geography, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, Crop Science, Horticulture, as well as Extension, Psychology and Sociology.

Office Management and Administration along with Finance and Accounting are handled by officers qualified in these areas. This staff component supports the professionals and technicians in implementing projects and programs under the two broad sectors of Natural Resources Management and Rural Development.
